Okay, so once again I haven’t posted very recently on here so I figured I should probably update you guys on the newest adventure I am taking.

Me and my boyfriend and two of our friends plan to move into an apartment together this summer, so money has been on my mind A LOT lately. I do make just barely enough with my current job to be able to get by, but it leaves me with basically no fun money whatsoever. So I started looking into different ways to earn a second income. I have clearly already tried blogging, but this is definitely more of a do it at my own pace kind of thing that would not hold up very well as a source of income. I have made this Google search hundreds of times, but I came across something new this past time. Bulk candy vending. I looked into it a little more and it seems like an excellent fit for me! 😀

I bought a machine off of Craigslist, I have obtained my seller’s permit from the state of California Board of Equalization, and I mailed in my filing for a fictitious business name to the County Clerk! I also filled out the form to become a part of the National Children’s Cancer Society’s charity vending program. Basically being associated with a charity helps avoid the whole businesses asking for a cut of your profit to let you place your machine in their location. It’s good for the charity, and it makes the business look good because people who buy from the machine will associate the machine with the business, not with an independent owner.

I also am in the process of filling out the business license form for my city, and it’s so difficult with the location of a business, because there really isn’t a set location. All of the paper work and office work and such will be done out of my home, but I’m not selling anything from my house so I don’t know if I qualify as a home operated business. Also since I am selling candy I have to look into whether or not I need a health permit and there really isn’t anywhere that is geared directly at bulk candy vending in terms of what licenses and things you need, it’s all geared towards soda and snack vending, which are bigger and have to account for tax and such.

So the process is somewhat confusing, but I am doing a really good job at motivating myself to get it done! I’m just taking it one baby step at a time, and Ben is doing a really good job about keeping all questions and stuff about the here and now instead of the future, because I have discovered that thinking too much about all of the details of having a bunch of machines and stuff to run is really un-motivating, so I’m just focusing on one thing at a time. The first thing I did was go out and buy a machine off of Craigslist, because I knew as soon as I had it it would really get me excited. And it did! It was only $50! 😀 (For anyone thinking of starting a business like this, do not pay more than $50 for your first few machines, you are ripping yourself off.)

I was able to compile a list of potential places of where to place the machine, which was fun. And the goal right now is get that machine placed, and make enough money off of it to buy a second machine, and then I assume do the same with those two machines. Which really isn’t that bad, having one machine to place. Since I have a truck what I will most likely end up doing is just taking it with me to every single place, which is another piece of advice that I read that I really like. You walk into the business and do your little presentation and if they say yes, you go right out to the truck, get it, and set it up right then and there. Also it allows the business owner the opportunity to see the machine in person and get a good feel for it. Plus I think the whole instant gratification aspect of it helps as well.

I’m also going to get started on a presentation binder, which will have information about the NCCS, probably some information on the machine, and then the various types of candy that I offer aside from gumballs. My current machine has two heads on it so there can be two different kinds of candy in it, and plus some business owners might not want gum in their business.

So that is that! If you guys have experience with this industry, or and questions or general comments I would love to hear from you! 😀

I find it interesting how quickly many Americans rush to judgement when it comes to President Obama.  While I often criticize Republicans for their attitude towards the president, Democrats are often just as quick to throw backlash his way whenever it seems he might be doing something they disagree with.

The moment a situation comes up where liberals don’t fully agree with his stance, they seem to freak out. Like his budget proposal he made public a few months ago (which included a chained CPI that liberals did not support), and now more recently his comments about his desire to seek Congressional approval for military involvement in Syria.

I 100% agree with what this first segment has to say. Unfortunately this is how a large majority of American politics works, as we have all seen very clearly over the past five years of Obama’s presidency. I think this post does a really good job of taking the time to try and get into the President’s head and see it from his point of view. It makes you look at him more as a human being rather than just some figurehead, which is something I think a lot of us forget when it comes to big important people such as the President. We forget that they are human beings just like us. He doesn’t have some life handbook that gives him all of the answers to the problems we all face each and everyday. He’s on the same floating spaceship we call Earth, and just like everyone else he’s trying to make the best of it.

I know it’s a touchy subject for a lot of people, and there’s so much other content out there, but this one really stood out to me and I wanted to share it with you guys because I want more people to read it. Seriously, go read it.

What do you think of it? And if I dare ask, what do you think of the whole situation with Syria in general? Let me know below, I’d love to hear what you guys have to say.

Okay guys I’m gonna be real for a second.

So that alphabet soup of an acronym for lgbtqaaiwhateverthefrick+ is getting a little out of hand. And if you keep adding more letters to it to please more people, double of that is going to come asking for a bandage on their butthurt and demanding a letter of their very own.

Why don’t we just call it WEGAF, ‘We Give A Fuck.’ We do not care who you are, what you identify as, or where you came from; we give a fuck about you as a person and what rights you should have as a human being.

This is a post my sister wrote on her tumblr that I feel should be shared with the world. There is also another post here that discusses a similar idea. I figured I would share it with you guys because, like I said, it’s something that I would like to see more widely discussed. What do you guys think? Let me know! 🙂

I decided to not share this example in yesterdays post because I couldn’t quite remember how I had seen the connection between their type and their psychological disorder, but I remembered!

I have a friend who is convinced she has Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and her conclusion is well-founded. Her Myers-Briggs type is INFJ so her dominant function is Introverted-Intuition and her auxiliary function is Extraverted-Feeling. Common problems with perception dominant types is that they have a much harder time making decisions because they spend so much time taking in information that they find it difficult to come to a concrete conclusion about it.

In the case of my friend her room is this safe place that she has created for herself where everything is where it is supposed to be so she doesn’t have any information to take in and then make a decision about because it’s already taken care of. I think that her Obsessive-Compulsion may stem from the fact that she gets very anxious about having to make decisions because there is so much information for her to sort through that she can’t make them as quickly as she thinks other people expect her to. So her room being filled with things that are just right and where they are supposed to be is basically like a haven of concrete decisions that she does not have to worry about making.

Again, this is just an observation I have made, I am not trying to say that every single INFJ has OCD. I apologize in advance if I offend anyone. What do you guys think? Have you made any similar observations in your own life? Let me know!

As you all may or may not know I am quite interested in personality psychology, particularly the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. As a result I have pretty much typed all of my friends and my immediate family members and I have started to notice a bit of a connection between their personality types and some of their psychological difficulties.

My dad has been diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety and there have been many problems with him in the past. One of the things that happened was he would go through periods of time where he refused to take his medication which would result in him taking on this horrible god complex where he believed that he was better than everyone else and that he did not need his medication. Of course this resulted in us treating him VERY differently and he thought that we had suddenly just stopped loving him. He thought that we were the problem and we were abandoning him and did not care about him. However he did not see that he was the cause of the problem. He is an ISFJ. As far as I have read these types have a problem with making concrete decisions based on a limited amount of information that they take in. They only use their Se in ways that will benefit what their Fi has made a decision on. As a result a situation not unlike my fathers can occur and as a result they can become quite depressed.

So I have this hunch that maybe his depression could in some way be connected to his Myers-Briggs type? This does not in any way mean that all ISFJs are depressed or are more prone to depression but maybe what makes them depressed is connected to their functions dynamic? So that a depressed ISFJ would be depressed about something in a similar fashion?

This is completely just random thought that I am throwing out there, I do not mean to offend anyone and I apologize in advance if I do. But what do you guys think? Do you think that maybe there is a connection between various psychological problems and MBTI types?  Just in the way that the function dynamics work and the way the brains of people with these problems work? Let me know in the comments it would be very much appreciated.

I would like to start off by thanking those of you that have stuck around regardless of the fact that I have not posted anything since April 3rd of this year. Kudos to you.

Anyways, I am still 17 however I will (finally!) be turning 18 on October 12th. I have figured out a much more detailed idea of what I would like to do with my life in terms of my career. I have decided that I want to major in Social/Personality Psychology and then become a relationship counselor using personality psychology as the basis. I would also love to do a study on how various recreational drugs affect one’s personality in terms of their four letter MBTI code. I’m also interested in coming up with a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator for people with disabilities that prevent them from having the ability to take the current versions of the test. I would like to do this with the hope that maybe the results would allow both them and their loved ones to understand how they operate a little better.

But I digress from the initial life update. I finished my first summer semester of college. It was horrid because I decided it was a great idea to take three general ed requirements…lets just say I didn’t do as well as I initially hoped I would. I had a great time with the classes though, my teachers were all very helpful and very knowledgeable about their topics.

Me and Ben are still together and we celebrated our 1 year anniversary on May 4 (awww yeah star wars day). I know I haven’t posted much about him, but I’m sure he’ll come up at some points seeing how I do spend a majority of my time with him. 😛

Which brings me to the end of my life update. If I think of anything else to share with you guys I’m sure I will make a post about it or just add on to this one. If you guys have any other questions about what I’ve been up to please let me know!

Also, what are traits you consider vital to an excellent professor? One of mine is that they are able to teach from their brains instead of a book because I see it as a sign that they are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their topic, which makes me very excited to hear what they have to say. What are your thoughts? Let me know!
